Sean is a Trade Finance specialist with 23 years’ banking experience, 18 with HSBC, holding leadership positions in Trade Finance in New York, Latin America and Hong Kong. He has been in Riyadh, with SAB for 5 years working on innovation and digitalization, leading SAB’s digital projects in Trade Finance. Current focus is on embedded finance, digital guarantee propositions and bringing the bank’s trade finance IT architecture to be best in class with the ambition to use technological developments to reduce friction in Trade Finance, to decrease the Trade Finance gap and to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision initiatives of becoming a global trade hub and digital banking centre with a growing SME sector. Sean is also involved with Trade Finance industry initiatives including the International Trade & Forfaiting Association’s Middle East Trade Technology adoption group and the ICC’S Digital Standards Initiative.
He is Fellow Chartered Accountant from India and CPA from US. He holds Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, India. He is also trained in FX, Hedging & Derivatives by Euro Money London.
For his distinguished work, he has been awarded the prestigious Global CFO excellence award for Best Real Estate CFO (UAE) and Best Corporate Turnaround CFO (MiddleEast).
He is also a regular speaker in several Regional /Global financial and restructuring conferences.
